Anti Nuclear Antibody / Factor (ANA) (NHC)

The Anti Nuclear Antibody / Factor (ANA) test is a blood test that detects antinuclear antibodies (ANA), which are produced when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own cells. This test is widely used to help diagnose autoimmune diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD), Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjögren’s Syndrome, Progressive Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma), and CREST Syndrome. The ANA test is recommended for individuals experiencing persistent joint pain, unexplained fatigue, skin rashes, muscle pain, fever, dry eyes, dry mouth, or other symptoms suggestive of autoimmune disease.
