Anti - ds DNA Antibody, EIA ( Offer)

The Anti-dsDNA Antibody, EIA (Offer) test is a blood test used to detect antibodies against double-stranded DNA (dsDNA), which are produced when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own cells. These autoantibodies are strongly associated with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease that can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. The test is commonly performed using the Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) method to help diagnose and monitor lupus.

The Anti-dsDNA Antibody test is recommended for individuals with symptoms suggestive of lupus, such as joint pain, skin rashes, unexplained fever, fatigue, kidney problems, or positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) results. A positive or high Anti-dsDNA antibody level supports the diagnosis of SLE and may indicate active disease, particularly when kidney involvement is present. The test is also useful for monitoring disease activity and assessing the response to treatment in patients with established lupus. Results should always be interpreted along with the patient’s clinical history, physical examination, and other autoimmune tests for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
